Dr. Jean-Louis BOURGES achieved a medical residency and a fellowship of ophthalmology in Paris university. He completed an international fellowship from the Jules Stein Eye Institute at David Geffen school of medicine, UCLA. He is MD, PhD, and fellow of the European board of ophthalmology. For 10 years, he served as Maitre de Conférence (associate professor) of French universities at Paris Descartes university. He is now serving as full professor at Sorbonne Paris Cité university, Paris Descartes school of medicine. He develops virtual learning though experiencial teaching and simulation techniques. His clinical practice is dedicated to ophthalmology, and subspecialized in anterior segment surgery, refractive surgery and corneal diseases. He is the head-chief of the ophthalmological division at Hotel-Dieu hospital and supervises eye emergency at Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris. He published 60 scientific peer-reviewed papers, wrote more than 15 book chapters and owns 2 patents in the field of ophthalmology.
